Random photo of Artemis:
She was a badass. No question. Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen would be the modern day equivalent of Artemis. At least two festivals were celebrated in her honor: Brauronia (held every five years) and the festival of Artemis Orthia, in which young boys would be flogged as part of the celebration. Apparently a piece of cheese was put on an altar, and the boys would have to steal it. And then they’d get whipped. It’s not my idea of a fun party, but, you know, cultures.
Speaking of cultures, that’s a tenuous segue into Artemis’ Joanna Whitney with the recap of last night’s match-up:
I had Horticulture class last night so I didn’t get to the game until the score was 12-7 Artemis. So since I don’t have much to tell you other than Demeter used the 2 point power on the first point and scored, half was 8-7 Artemis, Artemis didn’t use their power and final score was 15-11, I decided to draw you a visual reenactment of an awesome moment from last night.
As soon as I showed up, Demeter went on a 4 point run to bring the score to within 1 point. 12-11. Maybe I’m bad luck. But then, on that O point, Chin swung to me and I put it up to Snatch in the end zone who grabbed the disc right around the same time as a player on Demeter. They fell to the ground both clutching the disc ready to call that each of them had been the first one to grab it. That’s when some football players run into the end zone more pumped than all of the times Dude Perfect and Brodie Smith excite themselves combined in this youtube video:
They are beyond impressed calling it a touchdown and can’t get over the athleticism these men just showed (despite the fact that these football players are pretty buff and one proved he was almost as fast as Turk at the end of the night). Snatch gets the call since he is on offense and it’s a score to start our own run to close out the game. Unfortunately the football guys just missed capturing the play on video, so this very accurate drawing will have to suffice.
I’m sure it feels like you were actually there. Yeah. I know.
I feel like there was way more detail put into Snatch’s drawing than the other guy. Maybe it’s an optical illusion, but I see a tad more shading put into Snatch’s arm than the Demeter guy. And clearly Snatch’s arm is longer. I’m just saying, blatant boyfriend favoritism!
Nice job getting the light stanchion in the background.
