Club Season is fast approaching and many players are gearing up for tryouts amongst all of the divisions. Here is some information about the upcoming season and teams in LA! If you are interested in playing at the club level and providing your contact information to area team club leadership, please fill out the survey here. Teams will be able to reach out to you if there is a common interest.
Upcoming Events!
Mixed Team Mixer
April 15th @ 10:30am – 3:30pm
Wilson Park, Torrance CA
An open event where all players in the area that are interested in playing club are welcome to attend and showcase their skills. LA Mixed teams will be hosting the event and team leadership will be invited to represent their clubs.
Women’s Mini Mixer
April 2nd @ 10:00am – 1:00pm
El Nido Park, Redondo Beach CA
A women-matching player open event where all level players in the area that are interested in playing club are welcome to attend and showcase their skills. The Women’s teams will be hosting the event with the other women’s teams in the area.
What is Club Ultimate?
For those who may not be as familiar, Club Ultimate is one of the original organized formats where teams form locally and compete in tournaments anywhere from locally to nationally. As noted on the USA Ultimate website, over 15,000 athletes compete annually on one of over 600 club division teams.
There are 3 open-age divisions: Mixed, Women’s, and Men’s. Each team will attend multiple tournaments during the summer and culminate in the postseason “Series” where teams will advance from sectionals to regionals and finally nationals! Teams are selected via a tryout process that is unique to each region and team. Every team has their own unique style and approach, but all look to compete as a team! Additionally there are “Masters” divisions targeted to make Ultimate a lifelong sport that target specific age brackets.
