Tuesday night, After Party played Plenty of Boba in the Tea up at the Glendale fields. Chain has been on a roll writing recaps for Boba this year. And Stephanie always has a way with the words for After Party. Lucky us, we have recaps from both of them to enjoy today. In keeping with Andy’s tradition, I’ve been posting in the order they’re sent to me, so we’ll start with a Phil Collin’s themed recap from Chain of Team Boba. I have been in the midst of a Phil Collins/Genesis obsession recently. What a great artist with great songs! I have always been divided between Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel but have accepted both are great. I also realized that my celebrity crush on Lily Collins is more due to her being the daughter of Phil Collins than her looks, striking as they are. Anyway I thought I would dedicate this recap to Phil Collins and use the words and lyrics of the legend himself to tell the tale of After Party defeating Boba. I never remember the score, but it was something like 15-9 or 8. Glendale was the land of confusion (literally, our team struggled to figure out where to go), too many people (for After Party not for Boba) too many problems. Superman where are you now (Boba needed him because After Party were killing us). But this is the world we live in (getting scored on) and these are the hands we’re given (Lots of drops), Use them and lets start trying (we tried and got some good d’s and scores but not enough). She (the ladies on After Party) seems to have an invisible touch (they were throwing all over the field). She reaches in and grabs, right hold of your heart (they really did). It takes control and slowly tears you apart (Boba was torn apart). By halftime Boba was in too deep (our cutters were way too deep) and there must have been some misunderstanding (because our connections weren’t there), there must have been some kind of mistake (lots of them for Boba, not so much for After Party). By the end, Boba didn’t care anymore. Castro could feel it coming in the air tonight (the disc that is and he was catching everything), He was waiting for this moment all his life (except when he slowed down on a deep shot which he probably could have caught). Oh lord (or is it hold on? I never could figure it out). After Party will be in my heart because we are two worlds, one family. That’s all, Sussudio. But for real, it was a fun spirited game. After Party played smart and great. Steph is such a fun person and a great captain who makes things fun. I also spent time at the bar with After Party which was also a blast. Great game After Party, I will follow you if you follow me. Alright, I know there have been struggles with the Glendale fields, and I haven’t actually been there myself, but if I know one thing, it’s that there are some directionally challenged people on the Boba team. And that’s all I’m going to say about that. But back to that recap theme! When I’m feeling blue, all I have to do is take a look at (one of Chain’s recaps because he nails them!). Also, since I’m leisurely posting these recaps from the comfort of my living room couch instead of frantically before my first meeting at work, I was able to take the time and find youtube links to all of the songs Chain referenced. I know you were all dying for it. Please enjoy. Cool. Now that you’ve had your Phil fix, here’s Steph’s recap from the After Party side: 15-8 After Party. To be completely honest, I hadn’t opened Steph’s email to see the recap until I was ready to paste it in here. I may have built it up a little too much at the beginning.
