TournamentAngel City Beach Hat

What: Join us at the beach for a hat tournament September 28th in Santa Monica. Proceeds will be going to Viva.

This tournament is focused on introducing beginners to beach ultimate, now with both a Women’s and Men’s division! We will promote a fun, competitive, and safe atmosphere where athletes who are new to the sport can play alongside and learn from experienced players.

When: September 28th, Estimated 10am-5pm. Schedule & teams will be posted Friday, September 27th.

Event Cost:

• $0 for rookies (players who have never participated in a LAOUT league)
• $15 for our experienced participants, and free for all Star & Legend Members through September 25th. There will also be a $5 rebate given for every new player you refer who registers.
• $20 after September 15th.

Extras: Field Water, (bring your own water bottles for refills), trash bags, and light snacks will be provided at Tournament Central. Also please note that there is food for purchase at Santa Monica beach, and you’re welcome to bring food.

Alcohol: No alcohol is permitted on the beach. If you choose to ignore this rule then please use discretion and know that there are officers including plain clothes officers and you may be at risk by drinking on the beach.

Party/Happy hour After: Stay tuned! We’ll be emailing participants and posting in our facebook event once we’ve finalized all of the details.

Rules:

Generally will be normal beach 4v4 ultimate rules using BULA/WFDF rules, but some minor exceptions will be made to make the game more friendly for newer players (such as 10 second stall for 4v4 and no foot blocks). Also, games will be played to a timer rather than a score value so as to create more equal playing opportunities. Details and any exceptions to normal rules will be stated at the captains meeting and emailed to registrants for the tournament.
