GAME RECAP

The A Division worked out really nicely this year. With 8 teams and 7 games per team, everyone gets to play each other. That kind of satisfaction is on par with cutting a bagel perfectly in half. Just me? Did you read my wine story from the KAPOW! / BGF recap? Your loss.

On Tuesday night, Dumbledore’s Army played Pocket Monsters. Nate of DA said he wasn’t at the game, but held up his groupme screenshot duties to send me the recap:

Ah yes, the woes of not being able to delete a groupme post. I’ve been there. And I’m dying to see these Pocket Monster jerseys. Where are the pics??

There are two undefeated teams in A division, and the Winter League stars have aligned to have both teams match up in the last week. Dumbledore’s Army will battle Ninja Squirtles for the first-place showdown on Tuesday.

Pocket Monsters is now 3-3 and will play Marshall (2-3-1) for their last game also on Tuesday.

for those interested, i can explain the cold/hot spots on the field, its due to atmospheric thermal venting emanating from the ground. An atmospheric thermal vent(ATV) is a fissure on the ground from which heated air rises due to the earths molten core and the pressure building from below. ATV’s are commonly found near high density Geomyidae populations, in this case, the pocket gopher, known for their extensive burrowing. The pocket gopher drills holes deep into the earth creating an ATV and exposing the atmosphere to more than likely warmer “pockets”.

Next time you find yourself in a pocket of warm air, be sure to check your knees and ankles, you probably tore something.
