And now, for the game you’ve all been waiting for! The matchup of the millennium! The ultimate boy band battle! NSYNC vs Backstreet Boys.

NSYNC was coming in hot off our first win last week, and despite finally having jerseys, we stuck with our lucky charm uniform of the 90s – denim.

There was a slight breeze on the field that lead to a lot of overthrows in down wind end zone affecting both teams, but we traded points to 3s. Then NSYNC found our groove and lived up to our first-half team reputation to take half 8-5. Yes yes yes here we go! NSYNC has got the flow!

But of course, being the only undefeated team of the league, Backstreet Boys was not ready to go down without a fight. They took the first 2 or 3 points out of half. And then we had a LOT of marathon points.

It’s a tight game and we’re getting closer and closer to lights out, so the captains agreed that 10:29pm is hard cap (we have the fields to 10:30pm). 13-11 Backstreet Boys are up. NSYNC scores to bring it to 13-12! But we checked the time and it was 10:29pm… Our self-imposed hard cap ended the game with a Backstreet Boys win.

For the record, I’m pretty proud of NSYNC. This was Backstreet’s closest game yet. Maybe they were intimidated by our denim? Or was it our choreographed dance moves that we’ve been practicing on the sidelines? Who can say for sure. But it was definitely a good match!

Backstreet Boys are now 7-0 as they head into the final stretch of the season. Their next game is against Boyz II Men (4-2-1) on Wednesday.

NSYNC (1-6) will match up against the Beatles (2-5) also on Wednesday.
