WE’RE BACK!!

It’s been a long wait, but it’s finally time to start playing again, and we are excited to announce some new Ultimate programming. Keeping in mind that COVID-19 is still very much a real concern, this return-to-play will begin slowly and ensure that our entire community can safely come back.

So, to start, we have secured two turf field sites for some weekly programming. Following the conversations from our Return-to-Play Committee, we’ve decided to schedule the next few weeks with a variety of free pickup games, including Women’s Pickup and 6v6 BIPOC Pickup, and then gear up for a 4v4 Mini Hat League.

Registration and waivers are required for all LAOUT events, including pickup.

Each week’s pickup games will open for registration the Friday before.

We’ll be sharing more details on the league and opening registration Wednesday July 7th, so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out our upcoming schedule of events, and we’ll see you out on the fields!

SCHEDULE

7/12 — 4v4 Mini Pickup 8:30-10:30pm  (VN/SO) — Mix up teams, gender match when possible, and generally have fun playing 4v4 mini; one field will be more beginner friendly to introduce people new to ultimate, new to mini, or just slower paced after not playing for a year

7/14 — Women’s Pickup 8:30-10:30pm (CCHS) — This game will be open to anyone that matches up against women on the field, regardless of sex assigned at birth or any other form of gender expression

7/19 —  6v6 Pickup 8:30-10:30pm (VN/SO) — Mix up teams and gender match when possible playing 6v6; all skill levels and athleticism welcome

7/21 — 6v6 BIPOC Pickup 8:30-10:30pm (CCHS) — This game will be open to anyone who identifies as a person of color

7/26 — Mini Hat League starts and runs for 6 weeks (VN/SO and CCHS) — this will be a mixed league with rosters requiring 50/50 female & male-matching players

9/1 — Mini Hat League ends

9/8 — Women’s Pickup 8:30-10:30pm (CCHS)

9/15 —  6v6 BIPOC Pickup 8:30-10:30pm (CCHS)

9/22 —  Women’s Pickup 8:30-10:30pm (CCHS)

— For this specific field we recommend turf shoes or sneakers instead of cleats

RULES/RESTRICTIONS

Waivers: All players need to register for events – including pickup games – through Ultimate Central at least 24 hours in advance of gameplay. This is a requirement to ensure everyone has signed all required waivers for LA City and LAOUT, and so that we have accurate contact tracing in place should someone report they have contracted COVID-19.

Masks: Following the State and Local COVID guidelines, we will not be requiring masks at our games, regardless of vaccination status. However, LAOUT does urge all players to get vaccinated.
