LA’s biggest league is back for another fun filled summer adventure! The theme this year??? Boy Bands! From the Beatles to BTS, you’re welcome for a summer of great cheers. And for the love of Ultimate, invite somebody new to try Ultimate this summer! Male-matching players are guaranteed acceptance into the Mixed League if they are baggaged with a female-matching player; so invite that coworker, neighbor, or gym buddy to play Ultimate with you all summer!
IMPORTANT DATES
- May 6 – May 22 – Early Bird Registration
- May 23 – May 29 – Regular Registration
- Male-matching players MUST REGISTER by May 29th if they wish to qualify for the Mixed lottery
- All mixed gender-matching baggages MUST register by May 29th
- Players registering after May 29th are not guaranteed entry to either League
- Friday, May 27 – Captains will be announced
- Monday, May 30 – Mixed lottery (for male-matching players looking to play Mixed; all will be notified after complete)
- Tuesday, May 31 – Mixed Summer League draft (if you wish to captain, either yourself or your co-captain needs to be available this evening)
- Tuesday, June 7 – Men’s Summer League draft (if you wish to captain, either yourself or your co-captain needs to be available this evening)
- Wednesday, June 8 – League Mixed Division games begin
- Wednesday, June 15 – League Men’s Division games begin
- Saturday or Sunday, August 13– Tournament @ Hjelte Sports Center
LEAGUE INFO
This league is a draft league, so everyone signs up as a free agent. You may baggage with up to one (1) person. Mixed gender-matching baggage (before the May 29th cutoff) are guaranteed acceptance into the Mixed division. Any remaining male-matching spots in the Mixed League will be assigned via lottery on May 30th. Don’t know what “baggage” is? Read the FAQ below!
- Male-matching players who only want to play in Men’s League should register for the Men’s Division.
- Male-matching players who want to play Mixed League should sign up for the Mixed Division, and please be sure to indicate in the followup surveys if you would be willing to play Men’s in case you don’t get into Mixed division via the lottery. This information is used exclusively after the lottery.

- Late | Players registering after May 29th will pay a non-refundable $10 late fee; and acceptance to either division is at the League Director’s discretion based on balancing teams’ relative strengths

FAQ
- REGULAR SEASON – The 10-week season begins Monday, June 6 and ends Thursday, August 11. Games are played Monday-Friday nights, 8:00PM – 10:00PM. We’re still finalizing the fields, but expect locations from Pasadena to Santa Monica, from Inglewood to Van Nuys–everybody should have a few games that are closer, and a few that are farther; consider it a chance to check out a new neighborhood.
- TOURNAMENT – Both Men’s & Mixed Leagues culminate in a day-long tournament and party! We’re working on finalizing the fields for the tournament and are hoping that it will be on Saturday, August 13th; August 14th is the alternate date we’re exploring. We’ll update all registrants as soon as we have confirmation from the field complex and bar/restaurant/brewery.

“Baggaging” with someone means that you are connected to them for this event. No matter which of you is drafted by a team, you both will automatically join that team for this event. Baggaging is not required, but is good for carpooling to help save the environment, and/or to play with a friend.
- In order to baggage with someone you BOTH must put each other down during registration and accept the other person’s request.
- This is the first process once registration starts, but the system calls it “Group Registration.” Make sure to put your person’s name in there; if they’re not in the system yet then please provide their email and they should be sent a request to join.
- All Mixed games will be 6 on 6; this is intended to create equal gender ratios (3:3) for all points. Also of note, we’re an inclusive league; all players are welcome to play as the gender you identify with.
- For the Men’s games, it will be 7 on 7.
Proof of COVID vaccination IS REQUIRED for Summer League 2022 and for all future leagues. All players are required to upload a photo of or screenshot of their vaccination card into Ultimate Central during registration. Our number one priority for LAOUT members is safety; we hope that this revised policy creates a safe environment for all players to have some fun as we get back into our regular league schedule.

In the demographic information page the text says you are forgoing memberships this year, but in checking out it says membership required. Which one?

If you are male identifying, sign up for mixed and do not make the lottery- will you receive a full refund?
