Womens Ultimate Wednesday League

This fall, LAOUT is opening up a new space for FMPs to play, meet people, and enjoy ultimate in a welcoming, friendly environment. Women’s Ultimate Wednesday is a 5v5 league with small rosters and one 2 hour game per week. The goal is simple: create an easy, affordable way to get on the field consistently without needing to already have a team or know everyone in the community.

Come with friends, or come on your own. We’ll take care of the rest.

League Director: Pam W.

WHEN: 8:00pm – 10:00pm Wednesdays from 9/2 to 11/4 (10 weeks) (8 Week regular Season, 2 week playoffs.)

WHERE: Rio De Los Angeles State Park

How much: $35 (which is just $3.50 a week)

League Format: 5v5. Core + Hat

Core: Sign up to play with your friends! Bring as many as you want!

Hat: Sign up as a free agent and you will be assigned a team.

Our target is at least 40 players, which would be 4 teams of 10. Small rosters mean plenty of playing time and touches, while still giving teams enough subs to keep things comfortable.

Teams will be built using a combination of small groups and individual signups. If there are people you would like to play with, signup as baggage (there is no cap). If you sign up solo, we’ll find you a team.

No full-team signup required.

A Welcoming Place To Play

More than anything, we want this league to be a place where people feel comfortable showing up and playing ultimate.

You don’t need to be an experienced player. You don’t need to already know people in the league. And you don’t need to worry about finding seven other people before you register.

We want competitive games, but we also want an environment where people can make mistakes, learn, meet new teammates, and have fun doing it.

Experienced players are welcome. Newer players are welcome. People getting back into ultimate are welcome.

All we ask is that you come ready to play, be a good teammate, and help us create that same welcoming environment for everyone else.

What if we don’t reach 40 players?:

Forty players gives us our ideal five team Mini League, but we are committed to opening this space even if we don’t reach that number.

LAOUT board member Jan Smogorzewski has generously pledged up to $500 to help cover the remaining field costs if registration falls short of our goal.

If we don’t have enough players for the full league format, we will reach out to everyone who registered and let the group help decide how we use the space.

Depending on turnout, that could mean organized pickup, rotating teams each week, structured games, coached sessions similar to LAOUT Academy, or another format that gives FMPs a consistent place to play together.

Regardless, we play.
